President to Attend Ghana vs. Chad FIFA World Cup Qualifier Today

President John Dramani Mahama will be at the Accra Sports Stadium this evening to watch Ghana’s Black Stars take on the Les Sao of Chad in a FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The four-time African champions are aiming for a victory to move to the top of Group 1.
Coach Otto Addo has assembled a highly motivated squad led by captain Jordan Ayew, ready to overcome the challenge posed by Chad.

While the visitors currently sit at the bottom of the group, the Black Stars have had an impressive qualifying campaign and are currently second in the group, benefiting from a superior goal difference over Comoros, with both teams having nine points. However, Ghana have played one game fewer.

Ghana failed to secure their spot in the 2025 African Nations Cup Championship. Their only loss in the World Cup qualifiers occurred in November 2023 when they were defeated 1-0 away by Comoros.

Chad, on the other hand, return to action in the World Cup qualifying race in desperate need of a morale-boosting result, having lost all four of their games so far and sitting at the bottom of the Group I standings.
