President Mahama to dismiss underperforming MMDCEs by December 2025, according to Ibrahim

President Mahama has warned Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) that they will be sacked if they fail to complete at least one project in their districts by the end of December 2025.
This directive was conveyed to MMDCEs from the North East and Upper East Regions by the North East Regional Minister, Tia Ibrahim, during a training program organized by the Social Cohesion (SOCO) project in Bolgatanga.
The program, held at the Ex-Tee hotel, brought together MMDCEs, district coordinators, regional coordinators, and regional ministers from both regions to discuss the implementation of SOCO projects in their respective districts.
inister Tia Ibrahim emphasized that President Mahama expects to see tangible results, including the completion of common fund projects and SOCO initiatives, in all districts by December 2025. Failure to deliver will result in the termination of the MMDCE’s appointment.
“Let me tell you, between now and the end of the year, His Excellency will be visiting all the regions, and he when comes to your region or you district, he is expected to commission a project under SOCO and under common fund.”
“If you are a DCE and you are sleeping, if you are an MCE and you are sleeping, if you are a coordinating director and you are sleeping, when he arrives and there is nothing to be shown, nobody should tell you that that is the beginning of your exit,” Tia warned appointees.
He admonished the appointees to go and be thinking about which projects they can finish before the end of December.
“He has given you the money. He is expecting results, and he has come, and you have nothing to show, then when again? So let that be your focus. When you leave here, go and be thinking, which project do I think I can finish before the end of December.”
The minister said the projects should be given to those who can execute it on time to avoid disappointment.
