Police Shoots Down NDC Propaganda Against Bawumia
The Ghana Police Service has shot down a propaganda stunt by the NDC to create disaffection for NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the police.
Using social media, the NDC Communications Bureau led by Sammy Gyamfi, which hatched the propaganda, threw out its members to post fake messages that police were on a manhunt for Malik Basintale, deputy communications officer of the party for claiming Dr Bawumia eats pork.
It is not surprising how the NDC has resorted to naked propaganda to pursue its election agenda. With defeat staring at them in the upcoming elections, the communications unit of the party has been looking for avenues to revive the “dead goat” Mahama, and the Basintale one is the latest.
Police refute reports But, the Ghana Police Service, on Thursday, September 5, refuted the allegation that they have declared Basintale wanted.
A statement from the police said, “The attention of the Ghana Police Service has been drawn to a claim circulating on some social media platforms to the effect that Malik Basintale has been declared wanted by the police. “We wish to categorically state that the claim is false. “We, therefore, urge the public to disregard it and treat it with the contempt it deserves.”
