Parliament approves NIB request to question Mustapha Yussif and A Plus

Parliament has approved a request from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to engage two Members of Parliament, Mustapha Yussif, MP for Yagaba Kubori and Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, MP for Gomoa Central, in a “preliminary interaction” over undisclosed matters.

In a letter dated April 3, 2025, Clerk to Parliament Ebenezer Ahumah Dietror confirmed that Speaker Alban Bagin had granted the request, citing constitutional protocols and public interest. The MPs are expected to meet with NIB officials on Monday, April 7, 2025, at the Sir Emmanuel Charles Quist Conference Room in Parliament.

The letter emphasized that the MPs must be accompanied by their lawyers during the interaction. While the exact subject of the inquiry remains unclear.
