Otumfuo’s visit to Ga Mantse is a testament to unity and conflict resolution – Titus Glover

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Titus Glover, has described the historic visit of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to the Ga state on Sunday, June 9, 2024, as a testament to unity and conflict resolution.

The visit, which was marked with a special durbar by the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, aims to strengthen friendship, collaboration, and community development between the two traditional kingdoms.

The visit also follows Ga Mantse’s recent participation in the 25th-anniversary celebration of Otumfuo’s ascension to the throne and his 74th birthday celebration.

Speaking in an interview with ChannelOne News, Mr. Glover, highlighted the importance of friendship in chieftaincy and explained that the visit is a testament to the importance of fostering unity and resolving conflicts.

He noted that Otumfuo’s vast experience on the throne and his ability to organise and resolve conflicts make him a valuable mentor for the Ga Mantse, who is relatively new to the throne.

Mr. Glover expressed his admiration for the Asantehene’s gesture, stating that it is a significant honour for the Ga state to receive such a prominent visitor.

He believes that this visit will foster the relationship between the two kingdoms and lead to mutual benefits for both parties.

“Otumfuo has been on the throne, he has seen all that goes into the chieftaincy, how to organise people. How to resolve conflict. And I think that Nii Ga is just a few years away.

“That means he has something he can learn from and Asantehene does not visit anywhere at a time. For him to take a step to visit you in your kingdom or state, it means he has valued that relationship.”
