Otumfuo’s Dormitory Project At Sefwi Wiawso SHS 50% Complete
A 3-storey girls’ dormitory block being built by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his alma mater, Sefwi Wiawso Senior High School (SEWASS) is 50% complete.
The foundation for the project was cut in December, 2023. Financed through the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, the 600-bed project is expected to be completed and inaugurated by the King by the end of the year.
Specifics
When completed, the project will have 10 spacious dormitory rooms with lavatories on each floor and open washrooms, a washing and ironing area, a hall/common room and a store room. In addition, it will have an infirmary and a two-bedroom flat for the house mistress.
Inspection
On Thursday, August 29, 2024, Otumfuo Hiahene, Oheneba Boachie Adjei-Woahene II who is also the Board Chairman of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation visited Sefwi Wiawso, the Western North Regional Capital to inspect the project.
He was impressed with the rate of work and welcomed assurance by the contractors that they were on course to stay within the completion period of one year.
