NPP Sure Of Victory In Today’s Ejisu By-Election

The New Patriotic Party ( NPP) is sure of retaining the Ejisu Constituency parliamentary seat in today’s by-election.

The by-election followed the death of the NPP Member of Parliament (MP), Dr. John Kumah on March 7, 2024. The Ejisu seat became vacant on March 7, this year.

The National Organiser of the NPP, Henry Nana Boakye said their candidate , Kwabena Boateng, is poised for victory.

He said they were aware of the threat posed by independent candidate, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi but noted that the NPP has worked very hard to retain the seat.

Contestants
Today’s contest is a direct fight between the NPP’s Kwabena Boateng and independent candidate, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, himself a former NPP MP for the area. Other contestants are independent candidates, Gabriel Agyemang and Attakorah Joseph; Esther Osei of the Convention People’s Party (CPP); and Beatrice Boakye of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG).

EC ready
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission (EC) says it is ready to conduct the by-election today. The Director of Electoral Services at the EC, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe, said all electoral materials and equipment for the by-election were at Ejisu.
