NPP running mate NAPO intensifies campaign for flagbearer Bawumia; Ada chiefs hail him for implementation of Free SHS
The Ada Traditional Council has commended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh for the able manner he led the implementation and improvement of the Free SHS policy.
In the view of the traditional council, Dr Prempeh, who was the Minister of Education when Free SHS was introduced, demonstrated untiring efforts coupled with bold decisions in making the policy a reality.
This came up when the running mate paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Ada Traditional Council, Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III, at his palace on Wednesday, July 24.
Busy day
It was a busy day for the running mate, as he intensified his campaign to get the party win the December 7 elections.
Napo, as he affectionately called, was in Ada , Prampram and Tema where he paid courtesy calls of the traditional authorities. His first point of call was the Ada Traditional Council.
Benefits
Speaking on behalf of the Paramount chief, the Mankralo of Ada, Nene Obichere, said Free SHS has benefited both the poor and the rich, for which reason Dr Prempeh deserves praise. On behalf of the council, the Mankralo wished the running mate well in his campaign.
Ada development
Dr Prempeh promised Ada their fair share of development. “I assure our revered paramount chief that we will do everything to accelerate development at Ada,” he said.
Bawumia campaign
Dr Prempeh later posted on Facebook: “The Bawumia 2024 campaign continues to prioritise a deepened relationship between the political class and traditional authority.
“It is for this reason that I had the honour and privilege once again, to call on the paramount chief of the Ada traditional area and President of the Ada traditional Council, His Royal Majesty Djetse Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III, earlier today. I am grateful to the Regional Minister, NPP Greater Accra Regional Chairman, NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ada and the NPP executives in the Ada constituency for their immense support.”
Prampram & Tema
In Tema, a large number of party faithful poured out to meet the running mate as he paid courtesy calls on the traditional authorities. “Courtesy calls on Prampram traditional area and Tema traditional council. I am encouraged by the great engagements with our respected traditional rulers,” Dr Prempeh posted on Facebook.
