New Ghana Grid Company Board Sworn In to Enhance Power Transmission

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, has inaugurated the reconstituted Board of the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Jinapor underscored the importance of strengthening the national grid to improve power transmission across the country. He noted that Ghana’s rising power demand requires continuous investment in both generation and transmission infrastructure.
“There is a critical need to expand the grid with additional facilities to evacuate power efficiently and reliably,” the Minister stressed.
He charged the new Board to work diligently to ensure that GRIDCo delivers on its mandate of maintaining a robust and reliable transmission network to support Ghana’s economic growth.

The Energy Minister expressed confidence in the Board’s capacity to provide strategic direction and oversight, adding that a strengthened grid system is essential for reliable electricity supply to homes, businesses, and industries nationwide.
