NDC Burn Ho, Bole Supporters Rise Against Mahama Over Appointments Snub

Supporters of the NDC in Ho Central and Bole-Bamboi constituencies have gone on rampage destroying party properties in protest against the omission of their members, particularly their MPs from President Mahama’s ministerial appointments.
Many people are surprised that Bole-Bamboi, which is the constituency of the President, could be plunged into such violence by his own party supporters.
The eye-red supporters destroyed party properties in the constituencies’ offices and burnt car tyres in front of the offices to register their displeasure.
Ho destruction
In Ho, the enraged supporters vandalised the constituency office, destroying equipment, including computers, fans, photocopiers, and important documents. It took a swift response from the Ghana National Fire Service to douse the fire.
Bole accuse President
In Bole, the constituency office was attacked by scores of rampaging party supporters, who accused President Mahama of failing to honour his campaign promise to appoint their MP, Alhaji Yusif Sulemana, as a minister.
The demonstrators burned car tyres in front of the residence of the late father of President Mahama.
They threatened to cause further damage in the coming days if the President fails to honour his promise. They further accused the President of using and dumping them.
MP calls for calm
In the heat of the disturbances, the MP appealed to the youth and residents in general to remain calm and avoid acts that could damage the reputation of the constituency.
