The overlord of Mamprugu, Nayiri Naa Bohagu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga, has accused the Mahama administration of pursuing a “misguided policy” regarding the Bawku conflict.
In a statement released from the Nayiri’s office on Monday, the government was criticized for imposing a curfew in Nalerigu, with claims that the reasons for this decision are unjustified.
The office contends that the explanation provided—namely, that the curfew is necessary for the evacuation of students from the Nalerigu Senior High School—is a poorly informed decision made without adequate understanding of the situation on the ground.
As a result, the Nayiri’s office has called for the immediate lifting of the curfew.
