Ghana will on November 28 accord former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings a full state funeral, as the nation prepares to pay its final respects to the prominent political figure and women’s rights advocate.

Government officials say arrangements are underway to honour her legacy with a ceremony befitting her immense contribution to national development.

In a statement issued on Thursday, November 6, Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the state funeral would celebrate Mrs Rawlings’ lifelong dedication to public service and gender advocacy.

Mrs Rawlings, founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement and former First Lady, passed away on October 23, 2025.
