Muntari safe in Dubai — Manager denies arrest reports

Sammy Anim Addo, the manager and representative of former Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan, has refuted reports claiming that ex-Black Stars midfielder Sulley Muntari has been arrested in Dubai.
This comes on the back of earlier reports that the former AC and Inter Milan star was arrested in the UAE.
However, in a statement released on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, Anim Addo confirmed that Muntari is safe and currently living in Dubai, where he is focused on his personal and business engagements.
He described the reports as false and urged the public to disregard them, emphasising that media outlets responsible for spreading the misinformation should retract their stories and issue a formal apology.
Anim Addo also cautioned that failure to do so would prompt legal action from Muntari’s lawyers.
Sulley Muntari is safe and currently residing in Dubai, where he is focused on his personal affairs and business activities.
We urge the public to disregard the false reports circulating in the media. The outlets responsible for these publications are hereby warned to retract… https://t.co/rnFF6S4O1i
