Mahama Praises Bawumia

At his inauguration in Accra on Tuesday, President John Mahama was full of praise for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for his early concession of defeat in the 2024 elections.

Dr Bawumia who was Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), conceded defeat on December 8 and extended his congratulations to Mahama.

The former Vice President said in a brief address to the nation that he had called the then NDC presidential candidate, John Mahama, to personally offer his congratulations.

Sportsmanship
In his inaugural address at the Black Star Square in Accra on January 7, Mahama said, “Your sportsmanship in making an early concession eased tensions and contributed to the early conclusion of the electoral contest. I wish you all the best in your endeavours.”
