Laryea Kingston gets Black Starlets appointment
Former Black Stars winger, Laryea Kingston, has been drafted into the Black Starlets as the assistant coach of the team.
His appointment follows a major shakeup in the technical team of the Under-17 side which would see him work as deputy to Karim Zito.
Zito would now replace Coach Paa Kwasi Fabin who failed to guide the team to qualify for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations after losing out in the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone B tournament organized in Cape Coast this year.
Until he was appointed to head the Under-17 side, Coach Zito had been the coach of the Under-20 team which he led to win the Africa Cup of Nations in 2021.
Laryea who played for Scottish side, Heart of Midlothian, aside from 12 other clubs during his playing days, has been working as a coach with Right to Dream Academy.
Another Hearts of Oak great, Jacob Nettey, has also been appointed as deputy coach to Karim Zito and they have the responsibility of preparing a team to play in the next WAFU Zone B Cup of Nations and the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Jerry Asare who was also the goalkeeper’s trainer for Zito at the Under-20 team has also been pushed to the Under-17 as the goalkeeper’s trainer.
