Kotoko, Nsoatreman battle for J.A. Kufuor cup Sunday
All is set for Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC to battle for the J.A. Kufuor Cup at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, February 18, 2024.
On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, the former President John Agyekum Kufuor unveiled the trophy for the match at his Peduase residence.
The match, which is being organized by the John A. Kufuor Foundation, is to celebrate the legacy of the former President, who was once an astute sports administrator.
Proceeds from the match will go to sponsor the education of needy students under the Foundation.

Mr Kufuor extended his best wishes to the two clubs, assuring them of his support to come up with a great game.
Ambassador
Former Black Stars Captain, Stephen Appiah, who was appointed an ambassador of the J.A. Kufuor Cup, pledged to purchase 1000 tickets for the match while the GFA President, Kurt Okraku, also committed to buy 5,000 tickets for fans.
Mr Appiah recalled the first time the Black Stars qualified for the World Cup when Mr Kufuor was President.
He said as President, Mr Kufuor supported the team to perform creditably at the World Cup in 2006. Mr Okraku also encouraged Ghanaians to turn out in their numbers to witness the match, while urging both teams to give their utmost best.
