‘I’ll never accept defeat until EC declares results’ – Kennedy Agyapong

New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong says he will never concede defeat in any election as a presidential candidate.
He emphasised that his stance would remain unless the Electoral Commission officially announces the final results.
Speaking to party supporters during his campaign tour of the Savannah Region, he stressed his determination to stand firm during electoral processes, especially in the face of early projections or unofficial announcements.
“Until the last constituency is counted, if I am a presidential candidate, I will never accept defeat,” he said.
“I will not concede until the Electoral Commissioner officially declares the results. I will never accept defeat.”
He also called for courage and resilience among party members and political actors.
“We need bold men in this fight. It shouldn’t be that the moment something is said, you run away,” Agyapong added.
His comments come as the NPP prepares for internal presidential primaries on January 31, 2026 and gears up for the 2028 general elections.
Agyapong is one of the leading figures seeking to lead the party into the next electoral cycle.
