Ignore disqualification rumours – Kwabena Agyepong

The campaign team of Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has dismissed reports circulating on social media suggesting that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful has been disqualified from the party’s upcoming primaries.
Reports suggested that he failed to pay the mandatory development fee of GHC4m required in the nomination process.
According to party sources, the vetting committee, in its report submitted to the National Council and National Executive Committee on Tuesday, indicated that Mr. Agyepong had not met this key requirement. The party, however, is yet to issue an official statement on his status in the race.
However, in a statement issued on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the team described the claims as “false, unfounded, and misleading,” urging party supporters and the general public to disregard them.
According to the campaign, Mr. Agyepong successfully passed the vetting process of the NPP Presidential Elections Committee and has been formally invited by the party headquarters to take part in the balloting exercise scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025, at Asylum Down.
“Agyepong remains a qualified, dedicated, and loyal aspirant, committed to upholding the democratic principles of the New Patriotic Party and contributing to Ghana’s continued progress.
The campaign team added, “We urge the public to disregard such false claims, which are clear attempts to mislead and divert attention from the unity, vision, and focus of our campaign.”
The team assured supporters that Mr. Agyepong remains a qualified and loyal aspirant, committed to the democratic values of the NPP and to contributing to Ghana’s development.
The Team further stressed that the campaign remains focused on promoting integrity, service, and renewal within the party and the country.
