Members of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) have embraced the tax reforms proposed by NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Business-friendly
Dr Bawumia gave an assurance that by the grace of God when he becomes President on January 7, 2025, one of his major goals will be to make Ghana one of the most business friendly countries in the world.
He also explained to GUTA in detail, his proposed business-friendly tax reforms, including the game-changing tax amnesty and flat tax rates for businesses and individuals, flat-rate duties on containers, as well as benchmarking the country’s import duties with Togo, to ensure uniformity and also eliminate smuggling.
Positive reaction
Vice President Bawumia said he was encouraged by GUTA’s positive reaction to his policy proposals, especially the tax amnesty and flat tax and container rates proposals, which are aimed at creating a friendly environment for businesses to thrive.
He expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of GUTA, for the open, frank and fruitful engagement.
“Together, we shall make Ghana one of the most business-friendly countries in the world,” he stated.
