Napo will be a solid choice; Ashanti NPP Youth Organisers appeal to Bawumia to choose him as running mate
Some Constituency Organisers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region have appealed to flagbearer of the party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to choose Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate.
According to the youth organisers, Dr Prempeh, popularly known as Napo will be a “solid choice who will give the required support for Dr Bawumia to win a decisive victory in the December 7 elections.”
In a press statement dated April 12, 2024, they said the fact remains that no one can force Dr Bawumia to make a particular choice. “Nevertheless, as major stakeholders of the party in its stronghold of Ashanti Region, we politely make an appeal for him to choose Dr Prempeh, who is the Energy Minister and MP for Manhyia South,” the statement emphasised.
Attributes
The youth organisers listed a number of attributes of Dr Prempeh to back their claim as a competent person qualified for the position. Among the attributes are that, he is a grassroots person, accessible and supporter of party activities in the Ashanti Region, especially activities concerning the youth.
