Ghanaian SMEs encouraged to leverage Canada’s job market for expansion prospects
Immigration is increasingly being framed not just as a path to jobs but as a gateway for Ghanaian businesses and investors to scale operations, and build wealth across both economies.
The Chief Executive Officer of ASKIA Immigration Consulting Services, Marie Keita Amarteifio, says Canada’s labour market — currently facing some shortages in critical sectors offers vast opportunities for Ghanaians with proper documentation to establish their presence.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Africa Business Festival : The CEO’s Connect Summit She stressed that beyond work permits, Ghanaian SMEs, start-ups, and entrepreneurs can leverage Canada’s immigration programs to expand into new markets and deepen capital flows.
“Ghanaians have a lot of skills and off course Canada also look at skilled workers which very important to establish. The market and needs are there but it is equally important to know the requirements,” she explained.
“So we at ASKIA we’re here to help people navigate through the process. You cannot just go and decide to apply for let’s say a visitor visa and get to Canada and start working,” she added.
The Africa Business Festival: The CEO’s Connect Summit was under the theme: Unleashing Africa’s Business Potential: One Market, One Future,” attracted key government officials including the Chief of Staff at the Office of the President , Julius Debrah, Deputy Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Mohammed Adams Sukparu.
