Five candidates submit nominations for NPP presidential primary race

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially confirmed that five aspirants have successfully filed their nomination forms to contest in the party’s upcoming presidential primary.

In a press release issued on Thursday, August 28, 2025, the Presidential Elections Committee announced that the following aspirants had duly submitted their completed nomination forms:

1. Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong
2. Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong
3. Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong
4. H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
5. Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum

This development follows the official opening of nominations on July 29, 2025, by the General Secretary on behalf of the party’s National Council.

“The Committee assures all stakeholders of its commitment to a transparent, credible, and fair process, guided by the Party’s Constitution and Regulations, to ensure the integrity of the process,” the statement signed by the Committee’s Secretary, William Yamoah said.

The party is gearing up for what is expected to be a keenly contested internal election scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026 to determine who will lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections.
