Extend Ghana’s Resetting Agenda globally – President Mahama to new Envoys

President John Dramani Mahama has tasked newly sworn-in Ambassadors and High Commissioners to project his administration’s Reset Agenda on the global stage by fostering strategic partnerships and strengthening Ghana’s international relations.

Speaking after administering the oath of office at the Presidency on Thursday, September 4, 2025, the President described the Reset Agenda as his government’s blueprint to restore hope, rebuild trust, and drive inclusive national development.

“The Reset Agenda is this administration’s blueprint. It is a bold vision to restore hope in our people, rebuild trust, and rekindle the movement towards prosperity. It seeks to re-anchor our integrity, transparency, and inclusive development to governance.

“While much of this work will be driven domestically, your role is to extend this agenda abroad by cultivating strategic partnerships, unlocking opportunities, and deepening Ghana’s place in the global community,” he told the envoys.

President Mahama further underscored Ghana’s long-standing foreign policy principles, which he said remain central to the country’s diplomacy.

“Our foreign policy has always been anchored on enduring principles: Pan-Africanism, peaceful coexistence, self-determination, and the pursuit of justice and equity in world affairs,” he noted.

The newly appointed envoys are expected to advance Ghana’s interests abroad, attract investment, and strengthen the nation’s voice in global governance while championing the values of the Reset Agenda.
