EV Beauty Ghana Supports Ghana Prison Service with Disinfectant Donation

Beyond corporate social responsibility, the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to improving hygiene and preventing skin-related illnesses among vulnerable groups, including inmates.

EV Beauty Ghana has extended a generous hand to the Ghana Prison Service (GPS) by donating 1,000 disinfectants and other essential items to help inmates protect themselves against viruses and flu.

This initiative underscores the company’s dedication to public health and safety, especially in light of ongoing health challenges.

At a donation ceremony held at the Prisons Headquarters on February 11, 2025, EV Beauty Ghana’s Curator, Ms. Vera Ohemaa Ama, explained the motivation behind the contribution. She emphasized that the donation was a gesture of appreciation to the Ghanaian government and its people for warmly welcoming the company into the local market.

Beyond corporate social responsibility, the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to improving hygiene and preventing skin-related illnesses among vulnerable groups, including inmates.

Ms. Ama highlighted that the disinfectant was specially formulated during the Covid-19 pandemic for the African market. It is designed to be highly effective against viruses while remaining safe for users, as it is alcohol-free, odorless, and colorless—making it suitable for children and individuals with sensitive skin.

“Our product is unique because it contains no alcohol, chemicals, color, or taste—it’s as clear as water, making it safe even for babies,” Ms. Ama noted.

She further explained that the disinfectant is designed to work safely with human blood cells, allowing it to eliminate viruses without causing harm. This is especially crucial in enclosed environments like prisons, where maintaining cleanliness is essential for both inmates and staff.

The donation, marks the beginning of EV Beauty Ghana’s long-term partnership with the Ghana Prison Service. Ms. Ama assured that the company is committed to sustaining this collaboration in the future.

Expressing gratitude for the donation, Deputy Director of Prisons, DDP Sophia Osei-Bonsu, acknowledged the importance of such contributions. She encouraged other organizations to embark on similar initiatives, emphasizing their potential to improve the well-being of inmates across the country.
