Energy Minister, WAPCo officials discuss unimpeded gas supply to Ghana
Energy Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has held discussions with a delegation from the West Africa Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPCo).
Held at the Ministry of Energy on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, the meeting focused on technical and commercial issues pertaining to the operations of the West Africa Gas pipeline.
Gas supply
It was also in the context of Ghana’s quest for unimpeded gas supply for electricity generation. Ghana recently experienced power cuts for some few days due to what was attributed to a payment/financial challenge on the part of the country with WAPCo which resulted in WAPCo cutting gas supply to Ghana.
The Energy Minister’s meeting with the WAPCo delegation therefore came at a good time, as the country work to keep the lights on.
Ministry’s commitment
Dr Opoku Prempeh assured that the Ministry of Energy remains committed to ensuring power stability for the Ghanaian people.
