Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh crowned Best Minister at 5th State Excellence Honours
Energy Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has been crowned Minister of the Year 2023 at the 5th Ghana Ministers of State Excellence Honours held on Thursday night in Accra.
The awards scheme was instituted to recognize Ministers of State who had served the state diligently and distinguished themselves in the course of their duties to advance the development of Ghana.
A citation accompanying the award read, “ This award is given in recognition of your sterling performance as the Minister for Energy in the Republic of Ghana serving with distinction and excellence in the performance of your duties to the people and nation of Ghana in the Fourth Republic Ghana truly appreciates you.”
Humbling
Dr Opoku Prempeh, alias Napo, who is also the MP for Manhyia South, described the award as humbling.
“It is once again, a testament that, our modest contributions to nation building are being followed closely.”
Challenge
He further stated that the recognition is a challenge and an encouragement.
“For me, it is a challenge and an encouragement to continue to give of my best as a public official, in the best of my ability to the people of Ghana.”
“Whilst, I am eternally grateful to His Excellency the President, for the opportunity to serve, I pay glowing tribute to the dynamic team I work with. They are the bulwarks behind the success story. “
He also expressed gratitude to God for his protection, sustenance and for granting him the resilience and fortitude to work for the good of the nation.
