Denmark Hails Asantehene’s Dedication to Peace and Development

The Denmark Ambassador to Ghana, Jakob Linulf, has expressed his admiration for the Asantehene’s dedicated efforts in promoting peace, development, and prosperity in Ghana.
During a courtesy call on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, he stated, “I’m very impressed by the immense effort and love that the king conveys to his people. Today, I would like to sincerely acknowledge the remarkable work the King has done over many years.”
Accompanied by his wife, daughter, and a senior official from the embassy, Ambassador Linulf used the occasion to introduce himself to the King and convey his condolences over the passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
Insight
Ambassador Linulf was particularly impressed by Otumfuo’s insight and wisdom regarding Denmark and praised the King’s dedication to promoting education for young people. He affirmed Denmark’s unwavering support for the Asante Kingdom.
Support
Welcoming the envoy, Otumfuo said his role as Asantehene requires him to support all democratically elected governments in Ghana to foster peace and development.
Reaffirming his non-partisan stance, the Asantehene emphasized that, in Asanteman, which extends beyond the Ashanti Region, he ensures that any disputes are resolved to pave the way for peace.
“In other regions, the government seeks our assistance, and we do the same. We support the government of the day. I advise that Ghana continues in peace within the democratic framework we have all agreed upon. My responsibility for my people in terms of peace compels me to support the government of the day in developing Ghana and ensuring the country’s peace,” he stated.
Investment
Otumfuo expressed his desire for enhanced collaboration between Ghana and Denmark, highlighting Ghana as a safe haven for investment. “In the midst of regional turmoil, Ghana remains peaceful. Investments like FanMilk thrive here because of our stability and the protection offered to investors. We encourage you, during your tenure, to attract more investors to come here,” he noted.
The Asantehene stressed that the country needs cooperation, investment, and partnerships rather than handouts.
Job creation
Emphasizing the importance of job creation, Otumfuo remarked that industrialization is key to addressing the country’s unemployment challenges.
“We are producing well-qualified young men and women from universities. We have the necessary human resources, and what we need to do is create employment opportunities for them. If we can achieve that, we will need investments to drive industrial growth,” he concluded.
