Compensation for Rawlingses: Zanetor in Line for Defence Minister?

Based on the available information, President John Dramani Mahama is likely to appoint Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings as the Minister of Defence.

The position has been vacant since Dr. Edward Omane Boamah tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash in August of this year.

Discussions
Recent political discussions have identified Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings, who is the MP for Klottey Korle, as a potential candidate for the ministerial role.

Compensation
Her possible appointment could serve as compensation for the Rawlings family following the passing of both former President Jerry John Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

Disappointment
Recently, Jerry Shaib Ahmed, the MP for Weija-Gbawe, publicly expressed his disappointment that Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings was not given a ministerial position in Mahama’s government. He stated that, given her competence and her status as the daughter of the NDC’s founder, he had expected her to be appointed.

Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings has a strong background relevant to high-level government roles, particularly in security and defence.
