Commonwealth Secretariat Rejects Allegations of Unauthorized Letterhead Use in Ghana

The Commonwealth Secretariat has dismissed reports circulating in Ghana alleging the misuse of its official letterhead for unauthorised correspondence.
In a statement from London, the Commonwealth Secretariat stressed that it had neither commented on nor denied claims of unauthorised use of its letterhead, explaining that “no such incident has taken place.”
The clarification comes in response to recent media reports in Ghana linking the organisation’s name to alleged activities, which the Secretariat described as unfounded.
Satinder Bindra, spokesperson for the Secretariat, further explained that while the organisation accredits over 90 Commonwealth organisations across member states, these institutions are entirely independent and share no office bearers or resources with the Secretariat.
“Each accredited organisation operates autonomously. The Commonwealth Secretariat does not issue or authorise their correspondence,” Bindra added.
