Book of Condolence and Vigil Announced for Late Music Legend Daddy Lumba; Mahama, Akufo-Addo, Bawumia Pay Tribute

A Book of Condolence and Vigil has been announced in honour of the legendary Daddy Lumba, who passed away in Accra last Saturday at the age of 60.
A statement from his lawyers, Baba Jamal and Associates, on Sunday indicated that as part of the programme to honour the memory of the departed highlife legend, the Fosu family will open a Book of Condolence starting Tuesday, July 29 at his residence located at Kinshasha Crescent, House No. 12 (GA-332-9264) from 9 AM to 4 PM daily.
A candlelight vigil will be held at Independence Square on Saturday, August 2, at 6 PM.
Tributes
President John Dramani Mahama, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have led the tributes in memory of the legend.
Mahama
“I have learnt with deep sorrow the passing of Ghanaian music legend, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, affectionately known as Daddy Lumba. Lumba’s unmatched musical genius provided the soundtrack to our lives, carrying us through various phases of life. The beats to his memorable songs may have died down, but his enduring legacy will echo through the ages,” Mahama posted on Facebook.
Akufo-Addo
Nana Akufo-Addo credited the musician’s work as having “lasting contributions to my presidential journey,” adding, “These songs will forever be etched in the annals of the political campaign of the New Patriotic Party.”
Bawumia
Dr Bawumia shared on Facebook: “I have been informed of the saddening news of the passing of a true music icon, who’s had an incredible career spanning over three decades.”
