Be bold to tell Ghanaians areas of Free SHS you will remove – NAPO dares Mahama

New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has challenged NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, to be bold to tell Ghanaians which aspects of the Free SHS he will remove in the unlikely event he wins the upcoming elections.

He said the former President’s baseless criticisms of the Free SHS and the failure to indicate which areas of the policy he wants removed, provide ample testimony of his sinister agenda against the policy.

Addressing members of the Koforidua Technical University Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON KTU) during a campaign engagement on the campus, Dr Opoku Prempeh affectionately called Napo advised students not to buy into the promises of the NDC flagbearer and his running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, especially on the Free SHS.

Best policy
Dr Opoku Prempeh, who was the Education Minister who supervised the implementation of the Free SHS, described the policy as one of the best things to happen to the country.

He said results produced by the SHS graduates so far had proved how important the policy is. “Five months after COVID-19 when the SHS students came back to school, they produced the best results of a cohort since WAEC was instituted. Today I stand before you very proud that almost every student here is a graduate of Free SHS,” he said to applause from the students.

Vote for Bawumia
He urged students in the country to vote massively for Dr Bawumia and NPP parliamentary candidates. “On 7th December whether you are on campus or not, you have to know that you have to contribute to the tomorrow of Ghana. The tomorrow of Ghana is your responsibility to vote for the NPP,” he stated.
