Bawumia Settled On ‘Results-Oriented’ Napo Long Before Presidential Primaries – Spokesperson Miracles Aboagye Reveals

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia settled on Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate way before the NPP presidential primaries last year.

The spokesperson for the Bawumia campaign team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, who disclosed this said, “Dr Bawumia has always known that Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh is his running mate.”

Speaking on Adom TV on July 2, 2024, Miracles Aboagye indicated that the choice of Dr Opoku Prempeh a.k.a. Napo who he described as “results-oriented, was a done deal long ago. “Long ago, Dr Bawumia looked through the party and settled on Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate,” the spokesperson stated.

Perfect pair
Touting the Bawumia-Napo ticket as a perfect pair, he said it puts the NPP in an even stronger position to break the 8. “It is known widely that Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh is results-oriented. He delivers on tasks assigned to him. He is a goal-getter who goes the extra mile to achieve success with tasks given him,” he posited.

Confidence level
Miracles Aboagye also spoke highly about Napo’s confidence level, his extraordinary courage and incredible discipline. Unfortunately, he said, some people misinterpreted such traits as arrogance, pointing out that, “this cannot be the case.”

Citing Napo’s performance at the Ministry of Education, Miracles Aboagye noted that in the history of Ghana politics, he would rank as the first or second best minister in that ministry. “When you look at the Ministry of Education, his impressive delivery is unquestionable. This is attested to by the various teacher unions including GNAT and NAGRAT,” he said.

He added: “Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh was charged with the implementation of one of the most impactful social intervention programmes, the Free SHS and he brilliantly led the roll out for the benefit of all Ghanaians.”
