Bawumia Is 61 Today
The Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is 61 years today.
Born on October 7, 1963, Dr Bawumia came from a politically-astute family. His father, the late Alhaji Mumuni Bawumia, was one of the most iconic political figures to emerge from the northern part of Ghana.
Consummate Politician
A consummate politician, Dr Bawumia has registered so many highs in his political life. Through his data-laden presentations explaining government policies, he has carved a niche for himself as a rare politician who does not engage in the toxic politics of insults, but one who focuses on issues.
NPP Celebrates Him
Last week, the NPP released a statement to celebrate the birthday of the man who is tipped to lead the party to break the 8-year election cycle between the two leading political parties – NPP and NDC.
Today, there will be a nationwide campaign and canvassing exercise to highlight the party’s achievements and the 2024 manifesto, the party said in a release signed by its national organiser, Henry Nana Boakye.
The activities will include roadsides campaigns, market to market campaigns, placards campaign, the wearing party paraphernalia and lorry and taxi station campaigns.
Also, there would be campus campaigns, shopping malls campaign and ghetto campaigns among others.
The national leadership of the party, is requesting all regional and constituency executive committees and parliamentary candidates to coordinate at all levels of the party organisational structure with volunteer and identifiable groups in their regions and constituencies to ensure a successful mobilisation effort. “To ensure the success of these events, we urge all regional and constituency executives and parliamentary candidates to collaborate closely with volunteer and identifiable groups in their respective regions and constituencies”, the release said.
