Battle Of The North: NPP will win at least 30 out of 57 Seats – Salam Mustapha

As Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign machinery continue to shake the north, the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, is highly confident that for the first time in the history of the 4th Republic, the party will win majority of the seats in the five regions of northern Ghana.

For the presidential election, he insisted that it is a forgone conclusion for Dr Bawumia. Salam, who is with the NPP flagbearer on the campaign said, at least 30 of the total 57 seats in the five regions – Northern, North East, Savannah, Upper West and Upper East – will fall to the NPP.

Taking to Facebook on Sunday, July 27, 2024, the national youth organizer gave details to back his position.

16 Regional tours
Examining the tours undertaken in the 16 regions of the country, Salam said, “Don’t look for plaudits, look for results and the plaudits will follow. “We have done 16 regional tours which birthed a spark of energy that every successful campaign needs. We’re almost done with the 5 northern regions and I can say with a degree of certainty that the scales in the north have tilted.”

Details
He went on to give details. The NPP will win majority seats in the Northern Region, between 12/13.
The NPP is likely to sweep all seats in the North East Region, worse performance will be 5 seats.

The NPP is mostly likely to win 4 seats in Savannah Region and worse is 3 seats which is currently what we have.

The NPP will better its performance in Upper West, likely taking some 5/6 seats out of the 11 in the region.

We’re yet to complete the Upper East Region but from indications, the NPP will take home some 5/6 seats.

Conclusion
Salam stated that the conclusion in the the north is that, the NPP is likely to win 30 seats out of the 57. “This will witness the NPP becoming the dominant party in the north for the first time in our current political environment,” he added.

Presidential election
For the presidential election, he said it is a forgone conclusion. “The presidential election is a forgone conclusion wrapped firmly in the bag. Let’s keep working to protect our imminent victory.”
