Asanteman Council introduces new Sampahene to Bono Regional Minister

The Asanteman Council has introduced the newly enstooled Paramount Chief of Sampa, Nana Samgba Gyafla II to the Bono Regional Minister. Known in private life as Justice Emmanuel Ankamah, the Omanhene, who is a Justice of the Court of Appeal swore the oath of allegiance to his overlord, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on December 18, 2023.

Letter
An introductory letter dated January 5, 2024, signed by Kwame Adusei Agyemang on behalf of the Secretary of the Asanteman Council said, “It is imperative that Sampa Traditional Area is part of the Asanteman Council and thus bounded by the latter’s traditions and customs. Therefore, any person not having sworn his oath of allegiance before the Asantehene and the Asanteman Council in respect of a paramount stool cannot be properly so called a chief.”

The leter added: “The Asanteman Council, presided over by HRM Otumfuo Osei Tutu II wishes to inform you that Nana Samgba Gyafla II has complied with all requirements in respect of relevant customs and traditions of Asanteman and hence confirms his status as paramount chief of the Sampa Traditional Area.”
