Asantehene Set for UK Visit in August, Final Trip Before Odwira

His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is scheduled to undertake a foreign trip in August.

He announced this during a meeting of the Asanteman Council in Kumasi on Monday, July 28, 2025.

While he did not disclose the exact destination, sources indicate that he will be visiting the United Kingdom. This trip will be his last official journey before the Odwira festival.

Purpose

In his remarks, His Majesty mentioned that the purpose of the trip is both for official duties and relaxation.
“I won’t be gone for long. I will return before the end of August,” he stated.

Preparations are already underway for the celebration of the Odwira festival in 2025, which marks the first observance of the festival in 64 years.
