Asantehene Commends GOIL For Its High-Grade Fuel
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has commended GOIL Plc. for consistently supplying high-grade fuel to the market.
His Majesty made the commendation when some board and management members of the company paid a courtesy on him at the Manhyia Palace on Friday, May 17.
Led by the Board Chairman, Reginald Daniel Laryea, other members of the delegation were, Kwame Osei-Prempeh, Managing Director and Group CEO; Mabel A. Amoatemaa Sarpong, board member; John Boadu, board member, and Dr. Belinda Boadi, acting Head of Goil Upstream.
They were at the Manhyia Palace to extend well-wishes to the Asantehene on his Silver Jubilee on the Golden Stool.
Initiatives
The King welcomed various initiatives of the company to keep it in business, and also bring relief to the people at some critical times. For instance, he mentioned the 15 pesewas per litre subsidy on fuel introduced in December 2021 when commercial drivers embarked on a sit-down strike to demand the scrapping of some taxes on petroleum products. “You have proven to be a trusted and reliable fuel source to the citizenry due to the quality and that is all due to the management,” he stated.
GOIL still strong
The board chairman praised the Asantehene for the enormous support he gave to the company in overcoming challenges it faced last year. He said GOIL is still very strong on the ground, for which reason His Majesty deserves plaudits.
Big support
Mr Laryea said for the past 25 years, the Asantehene has taken keen interest in the growth of the company, and had offered his support to it in various ways. “We thank you for the support we received last year during our challenging moments and we would want to inform Otumfuo that GOIL is still a very strong company,” the board chairman emphasised.
Best wishes
On behalf of GOIL, the board chairman extended best wishes to the King on his silver jubilee. “It’s a big honour to pay respects to Otumfuo. On the occasion of his exemplary leadership, we wish him a glorious 25th Anniversary. We identify with all the good things Otumfuo and Asanteman have done for Ghana. The celebration has been very successful by the grace of God,” he added.
