As president, Agriculture will be my No.1 priority; Bawumia assures as he rounds off western north region tour
Presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, rounded off his campaign tour of Western North Region on Wednesday, October 2, with the assurance that agriculture will be his number one policy priority if he wins the elections.
He said for a country where over 60% of the population is engaged in farming, the best way to go is to place premium on agriculture.
At various engagements in Suaman, Juaboso and Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai contituencies, Dr Bawumia said he will make sure that farmers benefit fully from their toil. “I will prioritize farmers and make sure that their farms are protected,” he assured.
He also promised the establishment of district agriculture mechanization centres to help farmers.
Massive welcome
The massive welcome given Dr Bawumia in the various communities gave an indication that the NPP is in to win the election in the region.
In the 2020 presidential elections, John Dramani Mahama had 192,460 votes ( 53.59%) while Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had 161,560 votes ( 44.98%).
Electricity bills
Dr Bawumia told the people that he will come out with a system to reduce electricity bills.
“Electricity bills are high in Ghana. I’ll introduce a new system that will bring it down,” he stated.
Future
He thanked the people for the rousing welcome given him saying, “The quest for a future filled with innovation and bold solutions is increasingly gathering pace, and together, I am confident that we can craft a nation filled with possibilities.”
