All set for outdooring of NPP presidential running mate, Dr Opoku Prempeh in Kumasi today; Dr Bawumia to introduce him to Asantehene

It will pass as a grand homecoming for NPP presidential running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh when he is outdoored in Kumasi today.

But, on the larger scale, the ruling party will seek to further strengthen its campaign with the strong inclusion of the running mate.

Dr Opoku Prempeh, affectionately known as Napo, could be leading one side of the onslaught, while the flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia takes charge of the other.

The outdooring, to be attended by the flagberer and the national executives of the party, will be held at the Jubilee Park.

Introduction to Otumfuo
Before the outdooring, Dr Opoku Prempeh will be introduced to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace, by the flagbearer.

Dr Opoku Prempeh, who is the Energy Minister and MP for Manhyia South will deliver his maiden address to the nation in what is expected to be a charged atmosphere at the Jubilee Park.

High hopes
Party faithful in the Ashanti Region, the stronghold of the NPP are in high hopes, and are expected to mass up at the venue to demonstrate their support to the presidential ticket and the party.

Background
The National Council of the NPP on July 4, 2024, unanimously approved Dr Opoku Prempeh as the running mate to Dr Bawumia for the 2024 presidential election.

Dr Opoku Prempeh, in a statement accepting his endorsement, pledged his readiness and commitment to work together with the flagbearer to win the election and realise his Bawumia’s visionary agenda of propelling Ghana to greater heights.

“I consider this nomination as a call to higher service, a call to sacrifice and a duty to perform. The NPP is enriched with numerous astute personalities; therefore, I recognise the significance of my selection and do not take it lightly,” the NPP running mate stated, adding “I call upon all our members to join hands as we collectively strive to achieve our ambitious goal of transforming Ghana into a prosperous nation.”
