The Governing Council of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) is investigating degrees held by staff that have been classified as “unrecognized” by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).

Among those under investigation is the Vice Chancellor, Professor Gabriel Dwomoh, who is alleged to possess a PhD from one of these unrecognized institutions.

On Monday, December 15, the university issued a press statement announcing the formation of a committee to address the GTEC directive.

The committee is currently reviewing the petition, and the council is committed to taking the necessary steps to ensure that the university’s integrity and reputation are upheld.
