“Bold, Dedicated Party Stalwart” – Bawumia, NAPO pay tribute to late NPP Nhyiaeso Constituency Chairman, Geokad

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and his running mate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh have paid glowing tribute to the late Nhyiaeso Constituency Chairman of the NPP, George Kofi Adjei, popularly known as Geokad.

Chairman Joekad, the longest serving constituency chairman of the NPP in the Ashanti Region passed on at the University of Ghana Medical Centre on Wednesday.

Vice President Bawumia who is the NPP flagbearer for the December 7 elections, and his running mate, Dr Opoku Prempeh, a.k.a. NAPO took to social media to mourn the passing of the veteran constituency chairman.

Bawumia Devastated
Dr Bawumia said he is devastated by the passing of the bold and dedicated Chairman Geokad.
“Memories of his work towards the unity and wellbeing of the party are still fresh in my mind. I cannot personally thank him enough for the significant role he played towards my election as the Flagbearer of the party. Chairman, we are sorry you had to leave us at this crucial moment but we are assured that your spirit will forever be with us as we journey to make your dream of winning the 2024 election come through,“ Dr Bawumia wrote.

NAPO Saddened
In his tribute, NAPO expressed deep sadness over the demise of Chairman Geokad. Describing the deceased as a dedicated stalwart who distinguished himself in long-service to the NPP, the running mate added, “As a personal friend, this comes to me as a shock. Not only me, and the Ashanti NPP family, but the rank and file of the party.“

“As we extend commiserations to ourselves and his immediate family, we have to honour Chairman’s memory by working hard to ensure that his wish for a resounding victory for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP, becomes a reality in December.”
