Baffour Awuah wins NPP Manhyia South parliamentary primary

Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah has won the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primary in Manhyia South held on Sunday (14 July).

Baffour Awuah polled 376 votes to beat Nana Owusu Prempeh, a brother to the outgoing MP had 141 votes.

Also, James Owusu had 7 votes and Akwasi Coker Gyambibi polled 2 votes.

The four were part of six aspirants who initially picked forms when nominations opened on Monday (8 July). Two others – Kwadwo Amankwaah Antwi, and Abdul Rahman Diallo – could not submit their documents at the close of nomination on Tuesday (9 July).

The election of a parliamentary candidate for NPP Manhyia South seat was scheduled for Sunday (14 July) following the unanimous endorsement of sitting MP Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as running mate to Dr Mahamudu Bawawia.
