NAPO wishes WASSCE candidates well; Promises to support Bawumia to protect Free SHS

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has sent best wishes to Senior High School ( SHS) students who are writing this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The NPP presidential running mate, affectionately called Napo, sent the best wishes to the 460,611 candidates on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

The examinations began on August 19.

Impact of Free SHS
He stated: “ It is pleasing to note that, a total of 460,611 of you, are sitting for this year’s exams which is an increase of some 183, 349 over the 2016 figure of 274,262. “This is a clear indication of the impact of the Free Senior High School policy which has come to remove financial barriers and ensured growth in SHS population.”

Privileged
Napo stated that he is privileged to have been the foundation Education Minister for the Free SHS policy. “I wish to assure you that, I will assist fully, by the grace of God , the next President of the Republic, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to protect and enhance this policy which is truly transforming lives and changing life outcomes for millions,“ he said.
