Courtesy call
On Thursday, June 20, Dr Prempeh, who is also the MP for Manhyia South, paid a courtesy call on the Okyenhene where he extended congratulations to him on his successful reign.

Wise counsel
Dr Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, said the Okyenhene has played a major role in shaping his personal and political life. “Osagyefuo’s wise and fatherly counsel has been invaluable, shaping many aspects of my personal and political life and so this was another profound opportunity to listen to his words of wisdom.”

Father figure
Dr Prempeh said Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin has been “a father figure and a man I have so much admiration and respect for.”

He added that, “our relationship and bond of affection go way back.” The minister expressed gratitude to Osagyefuo for his steadfast support to him over the years.

Assemblies of God
In a related development, Dr Prempeh on Friday, June 21, received in his office, leadership of the Assemblies of God Ghana, led by General Superintendent Rev Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengam.

Discussing the nexus between politics and religion, Dr Prempeh indicated that the two, though distinct, are intertwined in their impact on society. “Political leadership, I believe, must draw from the moral and ethical guidance provided by religious teachings to foster a just, compassionate and inclusive society. “The values of integrity, empathy, and service, which are central to both political and religious leadership, should be the cornerstone of our collaboration,” he said.

Gratitude
He was grateful to Rev. Wengam and his team of pastors for the intercessory prayers said for the political leadership of the country and, to him personally, during their visit.
