Mahama fulfilled only 28% of campaign promises; Ghanaians will reject him again – Bawumia

John Mahama as President fulfilled only 28% of his campaign promises, NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has stated.

Consequently, he has urged Ghanaians to reject him again in the upcoming elections, since he is characterized with failure.

He pointed out what Ghana needs is a new leader with fresh and innovative ideas and a mindset to craft and implement bold solutions for the future.

Dr Bawumia said this when he continued his constituency-focused nationwide campaign tour at Nsawam Adoagyiri, Ayensuano and Suhum constituencies. “We don’t need to go back to a leader who woefully failed and only fulfilled 28% of his promises as President even in the absence of the sort of global economic crisis we have faced recently. Let’s look forward and not backward,” the NPP flagbearer stated.

Mahama’s Legacy
Giving the score card of Mr Mahama, Dr Bawumia said the former President’s legacy includes years of erratic power supply, youth unemployment, and cancellation of teacher and nursing training allowances, which Ghanaians should not be made to experience again.

For the NPP, he said the government has been about possibilities with the introduction of the free senior High School policy, teacher and nursing training allowance payment, digitization, planting for food and jobs, one constituency, and one ambulance amongst others.

Contest
“The 2024 election is between myself and the former president. We have all seen the performance of the former president. This is not something someone has to tell us, we all say it. During his tenure things didn’t go on well. He said the flesh of the country is all gone and it is left with the bones.
“Getting chalk in schools was a challenge, he cancelled training allowance, and nursing training also was cancelled. Jobs were difficult for our youth but he said he was not a magician to manufacture jobs for our people. We have been experiencing ‘dumsor’ for four years.

“In 2016, we went for the election and he lost. He came back in 2020 and we didn’t vote for him. He said he is coming back this 2024. I believe that by the grace of God and your grace as well we will vote him out again for me to go,” he stated.
