Good news for prisoners as Bawumia promises increase in feeding grant to GHc 6

There is good news for inmates of the country’s prisons. The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has promised that his government will increase the daily feeding allowance of prisoners from the current GHc 1.80 cedis per day to GHc6 next year. He described the current rate as inadequate.

Dr Bawumia, who is credited with supporting the Prisons Service from his own coffers, was speaking at a community engagement at Oda as part of his campaign tour of the Eastern Region.

Brand new President
At Ofoase-Ayirebi, the flagbearer stated that the upcoming elections is a choice between a “brand new, tear-rubber President” and a second-hand, failed President.”

Vice President Bawumia said he represents the brand new leader who comes with with fresh ideas to solve Ghana’s challenges.

On the other hand, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama, is the “second-hand, failed President”who is bereft of new ideas that can move the nation forward.

Accountability
The NPP flagbearer stressed that a vote for him would guarantee the promotion of accountability in governance.
