Chief of Fiapre In Bono Region Renews Allegiance To Asantehene
The Chief of Fiapre in the Bono Region, Obrempong Professor Kyem Amponsah II, has formally announced the return of the Fiapre stool to Asanteman.
At the 5th Akwasidae of the year on on Sunday, June 23, 2024, the chief led his elders to the Manhyia Palace to announce the renewal of his allegiance to the Asantehene.
Fiapre which shares boundary with Sunyani, is one of the major towns in the Bono Region.
Gratitude to Otumfuo
The chief, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of the Ghana Communication Technology University, thanked Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for accepting him back to serve the Golden Stool after his predecessors stopped paying homage to him. “We are here today to show appreciation to Otumfuo for uplifting my town and accepting us as part of the wider Asanteman family once again after my predecessors failed to pay homage here,” Obrempong Amponsah said.
Power
He stated that six years after his enstoolment, he found it prudent to return to where he derives his power. “Six years ago when I was enstooled, I deemed it appropriate to come back to where I belonged and Otumfuo was so gracious to readily welcome us. Thanks to Otumfuo for accepting us as part of his children.”
