In an exclusive interview with Graphic Showbiz, the musician spoke passionately about his desire to reignite his career and cement his legacy not only in Ghana but on the world stage. Known for smash hits like Shashee Wowo, Sue, and Twaame Lala, Stay Jay was once a dominant force in Ghana’s music space, and now he’s ready for a second wave.
“I feel revitalised and inspired, and I believe the world is ready for new music that brings people together,” he said. “And this is the perfect time to reintroduce myself.”
After a noticeable break from the limelight, Stay Jay shared that the hiatus wasn’t wasted. Instead, it was a crucial period of growth, introspection, and creative reinvention.
“I’ve been focusing on personal growth and honing my craft. I’ve been writing new materials, exploring different music styles, and collaborating with other artistes to expand my horizons,” he explained.
But what really caught attention was his dream of collaborating with international stars. “I know there are so many talented artistes out there, but I’d love to collaborate with Dua Lipa or Burna Boy,” he said. “Their styles resonate with me and would complement my music beautifully to seal my comeback.”
