Mahama nominates 10 regional ministers

President John Dramani Mahama has officially nominated 10 individuals for the position of Regional Ministers, seeking Parliament’s approval for their vetting and subsequent endorsement.

In a formal communication to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, the President outlined the nominees, expressing confidence in their ability to spearhead development across their respective regions.

The nominated Regional Ministers are:

  1. Northern Region – Adolf John
  2. Oti Region – John Kwadwo Gyapong
  3. Volta Region – James Gunu
  4. Eastern Region – Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjel Awatey
  5. North-East Region – Ibrahim Tia
  6. Ashanti Region – Dr. Frank Amoakohene
  7. Upper East Region – Akamugri Donatus Atanga
  8. Ahafo Region – Charity Gardiner
  9. Savannah Region – Salisu Bi-Awuribe
  10. Greater Accra Region – Linda Ocloo, MP

The list, however, leaves six regions—Bono, Bono East, Central, Western, Western North, and Upper West—awaiting nominations.

Parliament is expected to begin the vetting process soon, a key step in ensuring the nominees are fit to serve and uphold the public trust in their respective roles.
